A little rediculous

I’ll be the first to admit that I’ve been engrossed in this Favre saga, I mean let’s face it, it’s a win-win for Vikings fan. Either way now, I can either make fun of the Packers for giving up far better quarterback or he’ll end up in Minnesota. I’m pretty sure that there is NO WAY IN HELL that Green Bay will let him play in Minnesota so I’ll have to settle for making fun of letting go an all-star/hall-of-fame quarterback for Aaron Rodgers.

I find it funny on ESPN’s NFL website that Favre has his own tab in the NFL section:
Brett Favre has his own tab

I can somewhat relate to this vid

One of my coworkers had us watch this today after they shutdown all of the servers because of a fire in one of the main data centers. I got to say that this is one of the funniest videos I’ve seen in awhile and damn worth posting. I know more than a few of my friends that can relate to this video…gotta love IT. Check out The Website Is Down.

DID YOU REBOOT 3 TIMES?

Hydrogen is the way

Hydrogen fuel stationIt’s not a particularly new thing but Hydrogen has been used for hundreds of years as fuel, just look at the Hindenburg. This seems like the answer to our problems over E-85 and other alternate conversions of products into ethanol. There are a lot of videos out there on this technology but I found the one done with BMW to be pretty informative as well as Jay Leno test driving BMW’s Hydrogen 7 vehicle. Check them out…who knows maybe the politicians will have enough balls to stand up to the greedy oil companies and do whats right for our country! My only hope is that it doesn’t take 20 years for Hydrogen to be used…GO HYDROGEN, it just makes sense!

Psycho!!!

One of my coworkers sent me these video clips one of Bill O’Reilly freaking out on the set and another one of Stephen Colbert making fun of him. I’d be anxious to see if and or when “full of shit” Bill O’Reilly responds to these videos or how.

I’m guessing Bill O’Relly would be a pure pleasure to work with:

BRING ON THE BIG HURT

Big hurtThe Toronto Blue Jays released DH Frank Thomas today after a slow start this season. Thomas batted .167 in 16 games in 60 at-bats. This sparks the question if the Twins should pickup Frank Thomas, I for one think we could really use Thomas. This guy eats up the metrodome and we’ve never truly had a traditional DH player. Why not take a chance on him? Can we fork up 6-8 million dollars to pickup this guy? I say give him a chance, it’s some much needed offense in our already struggling offense. Even if he only hits 20 home runs, that’s probably more production than we’ve received in this role. His numbers last year were pretty productive with a .277 AVG, 26 HR, and 95 RBI’s…not to mention 30 doubles and 81 BB’s. This is the kind of production that we could definitely use in our lineup and might push us over that hurdle to compete in this ultra-competitive AL Central division.

For once in our lifetime, can the Twins fork up some dough and pursue this monster of a human being. We need an “ogre” in our lineup, Cleveland has one in Travis Hafner so why can’t we have one? Oh wait, I forgot that we’re the Twins and don’t have power hitting DH’s? Personally I’d like to see him tear apart the Bitch Sox. BRING ON THE BIG HURT!!!

Charlie bit me

I have been trying to stray from “just” posting videos but I saw this video for the first time today and had to share, I’m surprised that I’ve never seen this before. Kids are funny and so sometimes are the video responses to original videos. If you have time check out this video in slow motion.

UPDATE: Charlie’s bite in slow motion

Walleye tacos it is!

MN walleyeThe Twins have announced their new food vendor, Delaware North Companies Sportservice, for the new stadium and the couple of food items that really jump off the page are: walleye tacos, meatloaf, cheese curds (definately MN flavor), potato sliders, and some asian dishes.

I can picture myself blitz out of my mind, the hot sauce running out out of my walleye taco with the sun on my face and watching some balls float into the Minneapolis skyline. Damn it, when is this stadium going to be finished! I’ve got to put up with the indoor marshmallow and shitty food for two more years, 2010 can’t get here any sooner.

Fighting for Life

Typically I don’t post serious things on this blog and they usually contain a video but I stumbled across a blog article on Blog Maverick and want to give attention to the documentary “Fighting For Life“. Regardless of where you stand on the “war on terror” in Iraq or in Afghanistan, this documentary is about the men and women serving this country and the sacrifices that they have to make on a day-to-day basis.

Recently the mainstream film “Stop-Loss” has come out under MTV film studio. When first seeing the trailers on the tv, I had no interest in seeing the movie mainly because of my interest more in documentaries over Hollywood corporate dramatization. About a week later I was sitting down at lunch and picked up a City Pages and the featured story was called “Soldier Suicides“. This story was very well written and depicts the struggles and inner demons that these “kids” are dealing with when they come home. I couldn’t believe some of the statistics that Beth Walton pulled out in this story. I honestly read the story and said to myself under my breath, “these kids need help”. So after reading these stories in the article, I decided to go to Stop-Loss. Despite many story-line flaws and typical main stream Hollywood influence, the movie does depict our current struggles facing our over-worked men and women in this long drawn out war. Looking at this trailer for this new documentary, Fighting For Life, I hope that it succeeds enough so I can see it come to Minneapolis.

The only other Iraq documentary that I had seen is “No End in Site” which focuses on after we had declared “Mission accomplished” in major combat operations in Iraq. This actually was one of the better more disturbing documentaries that I’ve seen and makes you furious how ridiculously poor planning and execution of securing a post Saddam Iraq. As always here’s the whole movie if you have time (1 hr 42 min) to watch at your computer. I highly recommend this documentary and if you get a chance check out Fighting for Life.

And that happens…

I’m not a huge John Mayer fan but the man seriously has gotta be given props. The guy’s got it all and he makes the average guy jealous of all the tail he pulls down. I honestly think this might be the best broadcasting of a baseball game that I’ve ever heard, I only wish I could hear the whole game. Let’s be honest here, baseball can get boring especially with the likes of Joe Morgan and Jon Miller.

Congrats Cohen brothers

Well as expected the Cohen brothers pretty much swept the Oscars with best picture and best director or should it be directors? It’s cool to see a couple of Minnesota kids just doing what they do best, making films. In dedication to the Cohen brothers, I leave you with the F*cking short version of “The Big Lebowski”:
