Felons in professional sports…?

I’m sure everyone has heard the recent indictment of Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick but I’d like to get into a topic based off of recent arrests in pro sports, convicted felons.  Why is it that in America we allow felons to play professional sports?  For the common man, he is barred from MOST job opportunities when convicted of a felony.  In the “real world”, it’s not uncommon that a person be dismissed from a job for being convicted of a felony.

So what makes professional sports different?  Why is it that they give these guys chance after chance after chance?  Companies in the real world do not want to have their names tarnished by being linked to convicted felons so why would the nfl, mlb, nba, etc. still allow certain felons back into the game?  It comes down to money, always the money factor!  If the player/worker is of some worth to the league as far as revenues, they are going to keep them!  Sometimes in this country there are double standards, its time that the leagues step up and ban felons from professional sports!  They talk about giving players second chances over and over again but they never seem to learn.  As with most of my posts, here’s a funny vid poking fun of Vick.
