the twins agreed today (according to bob knightengale at usa today) to send johan to the mets for 4 prospects headlined by of carlos gomez. the mets will also include 3 pitching prospects, none of which could help the twins this year. if this is true gomez will battle with jason pirdie for the vacant cf job. not sure how i feel about this deal. we couldnt get fernando martinez (mets #1 prospect)???? all in all, im glad the end is near. now we can focus on 08. thoughts????

To be honest, I am kind of frustrated with this deal, but it's really hard to say what was truly offered up for him. I'm guessing many of the deals that were rumored, were either false, or meant to up the other teams deals.

i feel the exact same way. hopefully gomez can live up to his potential and guerra can turn into a star somewhere down the road.

Only time will tell if this trade will pan out. I think the majority of the Twins fans out there are frustrated with not getting a "proven" major leaguer. All these guys have potential but whether or not they pan out is questionable. I'm not sure if any of them will have "star" power in the majors but if we can get 2/3 of the guys to at least be above average major leaguers than the trade might be worthwhile.
